Buildings

A building is a terminating entity where copper sheaths can be terminated and Inside Plant rack frames or XConn added devices can be associated for terminating copper circuits.

Open the Building Attribute dialog by clicking on File > OpenComms Settings > OSP – Common > Buildings to display the following setup dialog:

Creating a Building Model

  1. Click the Add button and Enter a new Name for the Copper Building model and click OK.
  2. Key in the building Type, Class (optional), and Cost (optional).
  3. Click the Select button to activate the Cell Library window, type in the cell Name and press enter or click on Select and select the appropriate cell from the Select Cell dialog box list.

  4. Click Update to save the building to the spec file.

Editing a Building Model

  1. Select a building from the Device List. Highlighting the building loads the information into the dialog box.
  2. Edit the Building Attributes input fields.
  3. Click Update to save changes into the spec file.

Deleting a Building Model

  1. Highlight the name in the Device List.
  2. Click Delete to remove the (previously unused) building from the spec file.
Note: Building models that have already been used in the network design cannot be deleted.
